"...this food is cheaper than the bus fare to the nearest supermarket in Toryglen"

Unemployment is also an issue as many young people struggle to get a job because they don't have the qualifications and more likely to gain an unskilled job with lower wages as more competition for these. They might not have the money to go out and buy appropriate clothes for an interview or their uniform. There is also a lack of available jobs in Castlemilk therefore they may have to travel which is another cost both for interviews, or the job, if successful. The local shopping centre is also closing down with only two shops open in the centre. One being the pharmacy and the other being a small Greggs bakers, so opportunities in the area are limited and causes extra strain on job seekers. There is no supermarket in Castlemilk, we have a MacDonald's so many people will buy a burger for £1 rather than buying healthier foods simply because it is a cheaper option and this food is cheaper than the bus fare to the nearest supermarket in Toryglen.
