HIIC Part 2 in Fife
We recently had the pleasure of seeing the live performance of two Part 2 Health Issues in Community groups from Rosyth covering local community issues such as; ability to access benefits, child poverty, generational poverty, isolation and the effects of the universal credit on families. The groups did this through presentation, video and role play.
Each of the groups spoke in great detail about local issues which they discovered through personal experiences, talking to their community and feedback from surveys they gave out.
It was amazing to hear that a member of the HIIC group has been involved in the opening of a new community hub (Oakley Hub), giving local people a central meeting place where the community can come and access services such as citizen advice and housing information.
At the time the hub was only 9 weeks old - with 237 members attending - has amazingly been shortlisted for this year’s Fife Voluntary Action Awards.
As part of the HIIC course the group put together this video in partnership with Fife Creative and Digital Engagement Team.
